The End

I've had a very informative time doing Learning 2.0. I must save I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the information I've taken in. I'd really like to do a bit more reaserch with RSS feeds. I liked Delicous, and will set that up at home i think. I've been checking out Library Thing quite a bit too.

I think the program taught me to look beyond the internet as just emial,amazon and ebay. I'd like to keep up with whats happeing on the web. There seems to be some useful and interesting things giong on (and lots of it!).

I think the 15 minutes a day concept was a little misleading. Once you got on to a site and joined up, your 15 was gone. I know I spent at lesat 30-40 minutes on each step.

Anyway, I'm very glad I did it and I'm sure i'll be dipping into the things i learnt in the future.

Audiobooks

I can see the benefit of downloadable books, and I'm glad that once again, they're free! I'm not sure how they'd delete an mp3 from someones ipod after a certain time. I must do abit of resarch about that one. Although I can see the benift of audio books online, I still don't see too many people getting into reading books online, I might be wrong, but i reckon people will still go for a physical book rather than reading from a screen. Who knows, only time will tell.

Podcasts

Well obviously, after doing Learning 2.0, I can see how podcasts, as an instructional aid, could be of benifit to the Library industry. I wasn't aware of podcast directories. I'm glad I know now. I found it really easy to add a podcast to my bloglines account. I also didn't realise that some people charge for podcasts.

You Tube

Ive been a devotee of You Tube for a while now so this one was a sinch! The video I chose is one that was sent to me by a friend. Its pretty funny. I could see You Tube as an excellent way to include instructional videos into presentations or historical sites. I took a tour of the Tate Modern in London earlier this year and they had ipods for hire with music and video on them that you could program while you where looking at a painting (actually I think most big galleries have similar things on offer), so I geuss You Tube could work in a similair way. I love the fact that it is free, and it has so much stuff on there, but I there's also a lot of rubbish on there too.

Web 2.0 awards

I had a look around the winners of the Web 2.0 awards and boy is there a lot of stuff there. A bit overwhelming really. I chose one called Lulu that claimed to be a cross between Amazon and Ebay. I didn't find it as easy to navigate as those two sites, but who knows, in time it may be the next big thing. I searched for a few books and CDs on there but they did'nt have them, so either they don't have much product up there yet, or I've searched for obscure things. It did look good though and that's half the battle won I suppose.

Zoho

I had a look around Zoho. I was trying to save my document to my blog but had no luck. Think the application is still a little foriegn to me. I could'nt figure out how to save or spellcheck what I wrote. Anyway I amnaged to just cut and paste it, so here's what I was saying "in Zoho".

I think Zoho is a really great tool No more mucking around trying to downlaod a document that your computer does'nt recognize. I've got say it is a bit wierd typing away a document in an application that isn't Word. I think its great that Zoho is free and availabe for all to use. I'm going to try and post this to my blog. Wish me luck!

Added my blog to the Darebin Libraries favorite blogs list. I think. I found it a bit confusing to tell the truth. I did enjoye having a look at everyones favorites lists though. I am a sucker for a good list!
